SUMMER FIELDS FESTIVAL

The 1st Annual Summer Fields Festival, held on August 21, 2021 from 11-8 in the fields of Crossing Life Church drew in local New Englanders for a day of fun, family, and music. Many faith-filled hands went into making this event such a success. Stephanie Foster and Emily Shattuck put in many hours along with the help of Melissa Hagan, the Young Adults, and other community members stepping in throughout the day.

According to Crossing’s very own, Justin Fuller, “Summer Field’s was the feeling like that of a mini Soulfest.” The heat-saturated air and white fluffy clouds welcomed all.

Crossing Life Church Events

Artists from all over came to share in their gifting’s and talents. Folksy melancholy abided as Andrew and the Intervention, Andrew Cass, and Serenade kicked off the day. Country guitar brought in the sounds of earth with Nick Drouin’s talent. Rap lovers got a taste of the beat with Animatronic the Abolisher laying it down. Jazz enthusiasts got a slow down midday by Dr. Harp Blues Review and Dennis Martin. As the sun slipped below the horizon, headliner, Christafari, brought the reggae beat and rhythm, and then lead worship at Crossing Life Church Sunday morning.

If music wasn’t your thing, there was food hot off the grill, food truck Dulces Bakery, and Kona Ice alongside lawn-chair fellowship, games, and nature walks. It was the kind of day you remember and want to experience every New England summer.

The following morning during Crossing’s service, Pastor Shawn Foster spoke of remembering revivalist Sean Feucht’s words that many concerts and events would happen in these fields, welcoming the harvest of souls in an unconventional and new way.

This reinforces the importance of remembrance. When it looks like not much is happening, God works behind the scenes and does more with our small steps and yes’s over a lifetime. As we continually create spaces like this for people to experience the living room of Christ, we genuinely invite them to His heart and what He does in the midst of deep brokenness. He is a God that restores, builds, and revitalizes people back to His heart, which is that of both love and correction, justice and mercy.

God hovered over the grounds of Summer Fields in that way, and it will be the first music festival of many staked in the ground as a remembrance that vision and mission do come to pass as we put hands and feet to our faith.

KINGDOM KIDS

By Kristal Tanguay

When I was planning for our kids ministry a few months ago, I was reminded of the several prophetic words given specifically to our community about it being a safe place for children and their families. The coming harvest will not only be adults, but we are expecting many new children!

Our heart as a church is to educate and equip believers in our community in fulfilling Christ’s commission to pass on the faith to the next generation by making disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all that Jesus taught. I believe it won’t be too long before our children’s ministry is exploding!

So far our re-launch has been going fabulously! We really cherish what God has given us and continue to make improvements to steward these little hearts well. We have a great team that has paved the way and has established rhythms and routines that the children look forward to each week.

We are always looking for others to join in the mission to bring the gospel to our children. There are many ways to serve, please reach out to Kristal at kingdomkids318@gmail.com to see how you can participate.

We have started using the GROW curriculum, which structures the lessons through the lens of discipleship. Our current focus is on Spending Time with Others in Community. Attached you will find our specific lesson overview for our current Promise series.

Lastly, we have recently made a few important updates to be aware of:

  • Drop off is from 9:40-10:15 AM.

  • Pick up should be completed by 12:30.

  • All children must be symptom free from illness for 24 hours to participate.

  • Please be sure to pack your child a change of clothes, snack, water, and diapers & wipes (if they aren’t potty trained).

  • For safety reasons outside toys are not permitted.

  • Every 5th Sunday of the month (occurs 4x per year) we will not be offering Kingdom Kids, we encourage kids to join the adults in the sanctuary!

Thank you for partnering with us to advance the Kingdom with our Kingdom Kids!
