GOD HEALS
By Ashley Cook
In Hebrews, it says “faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.” In our midst, faith has been rising like the dawn, and in the middle of faith rising, physical healing has risen.
Lyme disease is one of those silent killers, “debilitating.” Nearly 460,000 Americans are diagnosed and treated with the disease on a yearly basis. Of those 460,000, one of our very own, Adriana Ciccarone, struggled with the disease from the age of twelve until she was recently healed this summer at Basecamp at the age of sixteen.
Adriana knew she wouldn’t be able to take part in all the fun things that usually accompany camp due to an antibiotic she was taking and the need for extensive rest. “I knew I needed to give my body what it needed; I stepped away from those things because I knew it wasn’t good for me.”
She also had to relinquish her role as the camp photographer. “Giving my camera up was the hardest part for me, but it was an amazing blessing to let others take that burden on for me. It was a lesson on releasing what’s not in my control, trusting God with my business to flourish, and trusting others with my camera.”
As Adriana continued lay things down, God was beginning a move inside her heart that built a pillar of faith, a trust that God really did want what was best for her in His timing. “When you go up for prayer so many times, there is a level of doubt that you struggle with, but Saturday (of Basecamp) was really the turning point for me.”
“That night, Makaila Morrill was praying for sickness to leave and her presence and prayers were a huge part of that experience. Almost immediately, from the depths of my soul came a roar. I screamed harder and longer than I ever had, declaring that all sickness had to go. That war cry that came helped it to go, and I just knew afterward that I was no longer sick.”
“Waiting to confirm what the Lord had done, I called my doctor and completed the blood work, the test body stated “negative” to Lyme Disease! I don’t think medicine healed me, I believe the Lord touched me.”
When asked what is different now compared to living with the disease, Adriana says “I’m actually myself. I can take pictures now. I don’t need assistance anymore… I have clarity, I can read my Word and it is coming alive. My mental fog is gone. My bed is no longer my safety net. Jesus did this, there is no doubt about that anymore.”
Remembering the years of waiting, Adriana said “There was never a moment where I didn’t think ‘Lord, I don’t see you in this.’ I always knew there would be a story and that He would be faithful… His touch, having Faith and knowing Him, is the best thing that can ever happen.”
“He chooses healing for all of us. He desires to heal you. He loves you and knows you can live life to the fullest.”
Adriana owns and runs her own business (Adriana Grace Photography), taking photographs for those in our community and the surrounding area.
