THE CROSSING WEEKLY – THANKSGIVING EDITION

We have heard it said that the mandate of Isaiah 61 has been laid out before us from the first time we entered CLC. Today my heart floods with gratitude for a leadership that is willing to embrace and embody this call, to hold fast the vision and make it plain, to go the distance for the one (ME), and to lead us unto truth by the Spirit of The Lord - rather than a program, what seems a good idea in the moment, or a desire to fill seats to gain a sense of success. Thank you for laying your lives down so that I can know freedom and fulfill the good works He has prepared for me. The promises of Isaiah 61 are real to me. What you do matters and has filled my heart with praise and thanksgiving.

Crossing Family, Your impact and influence do not go by void in the Kingdom. You all have been a reflection and reminder of Christ’s light to me in one way or another and I am so grateful for you all.
Ashley Cook
I am thankful for the collective leadership of CLC. There are many gifted people that contribute to the mission - but their gifts never precede humility and their genuine love for people. I am grateful to be under this leadership and to be a part of building something eternal.

In the most severe trial of our lives Shawn and Stephanie have welcomed us and received us and our ministry into the body here. They were also very gracious to facilitate our recent Holy Ghost Forum and the many hands here that helped with that, which was a huge blessing and took a load off us.
Bert Farias
I am extremely grateful to both Shawn and Stephanie for showing me what a healthy church looks like. I am thankful that Stephanie jumped in and prayed with me when I was about to run away from God. I am thankful for my new found freedom in Jesus thanks to their Godly leadership.

I'm thankful for the selfless giving of our Elders in pouring into people's lives every week, behind the scenes, so that most people may not even be aware. Dave, Brenda, Wes & Cheryl are an amazing gift to our body!
Laura Langlois
Diane Arsenault has long been a solid rock in my life. She has invested herself in people's lives and is there for them day in and day out. She really listens and encourages, and is such a mighty prayer warrior and a dragonslayer! I'm thankful for her at Thanksgiving and every day!
Sarah Daniels
A special shout out to Dave and Brenda Matte and Wes and Cheryl Shattuck, the elders of our church who do so much. They give of their time, they give of themselves, and help with relationships. They lead Life Groups, teach First Principles, baptize people, and so much more... thank you for all you do.
Chuck Benedict
I am so thankful for our Elders. They truly exemplify a life of all-out service for Christ, as spiritual Fathers and Mothers to our body. As a model of our heavenly Father, they offer counsel and support when we struggle through our daily walk with Jesus. Love you Matte's and Shattuck's!
Bob Langlois

Special shout out to Sarah Beliveau for teaching me to receive grace from our father. Her friendship has kept me going in the toughest of seasons, and I’ll be always thankful for her steadfast love for me. She reveals Papa’s faithful heart, as she leads with love.

Highlighting the Arsenault family: From the early days of joining the Crossing Life Church this family has opened their house, hearts, and special days that would otherwise seem family only inclusive. There is not enough room to explain my appreciation here. Thank you Arsenault family!
Matthew Lawrence
I am thankful for an apostolic team that listens to and leads from the Holy Spirit!
Cheryl Shattuck
I am grateful for Tommy and Weslea Pierson. Thank you Weslea for introducing me to Youthstorm and the Crossing many years ago. Blessed to call you my best friend Tommy, you are an incredible example of Christ and constant encouragement to me.

In 1978, Henry Smith wrote a simple hymn called “Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart.” The lyrics say “give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy One; give thanks because he’s given Jesus Christ, his son.”

With the holidays and Thanksgiving upon us, it is important to remember all God has done for us and shout thanks and praise and give Him the glory. God has been doing so much in our midst that we wanted to take a special moment to stop, and encourage everyone to notice what He has done in this season of ripening harvest and preparation.

Throughout the Bible, verses give light to the attitude of thanksgiving for all that God has done and will continue to do. Here are just a few:

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things.” -Psalm 107:8-9

“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, his love endures forever.” -Psalm 106:1

“Thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.” -2 Corinthians 2:14

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7

As you sit down to eat and fellowship with family and friends, let’s be reminded of the big and small ways in which God has shown up for us as a body this year. In a season of deep growth and expansion, it is vital to remember the first fruits. The journey from where we were to where we are now is one to be celebrated as we continue to sow into the vision of what comes next.

What are you grateful for?

Happy Thanksgiving!
