Who Am I, Really?

Annettembeliveau 3/12/22

Am I the sum of all the Thoughts that others think of me?
(The ones I keep at arms length
So they can’t really see?)
Am I what I appeared to be
The time I acted perfectly
In love
Because I was inspired
By Your grace from above?
Am I the one
Whose mouth flowed trash
When, in the middle of a trial
My soul was challenged
And my body hurt awhile?
Am I the person who writes poems?
Calls her friends when they are down? Makes others laugh when they’re uptight? Or sits in the dark
With a grievous frown?
Am I the loving wife,
The perfect mom,
The faithful sister, loyal friend
That I so ardently intend to be?
So You or they will like me?
Or rather,
Child of God;
Without a mask,
Devoid of fear
Who’s heart before You
Lays quite bare
Who comes with trembling
Here, quite near,
To be reminded
How You see me…
What You say…
What Your thoughts
And plans are for this day…
Waiting patiently
To
BE, renewed in mind,
Until she finds
The only One
Whose accurate assessment
Means a thing…
So she can
Smooth out her feathers,
Spread out her wings
And soar through another day
Gently carried by the
Wind
Supported, led,
Surrounded, fed
And loved just as she is…

Imperfect, lovely Unfinished, yet – Complete in Him I AM!

This kind of Love
Is what I yearn for,
Need beyond all “
face“ And so I enter
Once again before You, Father, God of perfect Love Into my Quiet Place…

We’d love to know… Is God on the move in your life?  If you have a testimony, click the button below to share in an upcoming edition of The Crossing Weekly!
