Terri Talks: Farm Learns
By Terri Porrier

As you read this week’s Crossing Weekly Installment, think about the things in your life that keep you from being set free. It is my hope and prayer as you read these words that the things of old fall as we step into the New Year. God is faithful and if we learn to hold with open hands what He’s placed before us, anything is possible and freedom is there for the taking.

Beloved member of Crossing Life Church, Terri Poirier, has been faithfully sharing her farm learns with us this year. Below is another installment from her writings.

Be blessed and come to the altar of freedom.

Happy New Year!

I am grateful to God for showing us the painful truth of our sin in order to keep us from repeating it.

I was volunteering on the ranch one Saturday. It was pouring rain and we were herding cattle onto a trailer. It was going fairly smooth except for one calf. This calf was running, slipping under the electric fence, and hiding. He did not want to go with the rest of the herd onto the trailer. This went on for quite some time. Part of my heart broke for the little calf and part of my heart was praying for him to submit and get on the trailer with his herd. It took prayer and determination. He went unwillingly, but we eventually got the calf onto the trailer.

After this, God very clearly spoke to me and said, “this is how I feel when you run from the storms in your life.” I was a runner. My response to the storms included rebellion, running from God and running from my herd. But I eventually broke free from running, and like getting that calf to go inside the trailer, it was hard work.

In the beginning, I was in denial and very unwilling to do this work. But God put amazing prayer warriors and people into my life with more determination to see me set free than I was.

I finally submitted and I willingly went to the cross to be set free!

We’d love to know… Is God on the move in your life?  If you have a testimony, click the button below to share in an upcoming edition of The Crossing Weekly!
