2021: THE YEAR OF THE "BURNING MAN"
By Ashley Cook & Susan Michelson

In the beginning of the year, Pastor Shawn Foster spoke about 2021 being the year of “The Burning Man” — a title and mandate given to stir and encourage us as a body toward greater passion and engagement in what God is doing in our midst.

To be such a community is to have deep passion for the lost; to be convinced of Christ’s unending love and enduring joy; to yearn for His goodness to be seen by all; to be captivated by God’s call individually and as a community; and to do something about it!

We took this to heart and have had an incredible year growing in our passion for Jesus. Here are just a few of the ways we did this:

As a whole, our body stood in prayer for the building and staking of our white tent over the summer months, showing that when we gather together of one mind, God does miracles. In less than two weeks we raised over $100,000.00 demonstrating that it was an idea conceived from the Lord’s heart.

Interns and community members have grasped the weapon of prayer and intercession, with early morning watches weekly and 24-hour prayer initiatives once a month. We stood in prayer, believing God for His promises to come to pass on our land and for our call as a community to continue to unfold. Declaring Heaven’s vision and hope, the community is learning that our cries are heard and important, ushering in miracles.

Making way for the next generation to experience the goodness of God, Dreamers Ranch expanded their programming adding more camps and homeschooling opportunities throughout the year.

With passion for the lost as a steady heartbeat, we invited people near and far into our “living room” through many events, some with new spins on them. Seeing some of the largest crowds to date, all hands were on deck for Fire and Ice, Summerfields Music Festival, PumpkinFest, and Christmas at the Crossing!

The heart found in our Crossing family beats for the harvest of souls who are yearning for more, waiting on an authentic Church.

When we are captivated, assured, and convinced of God’s heart, love, joy, and goodness, we won’t be stopped. The result will be something that draws broken, wounded, and lost ones into the rich depths of God.

As we welcome in the new year, let’s resolve to allow God to deepen and solidify our passion and conviction of who He is and who He has called us to be.
