Terri Talks: Farm and Life
By Terri Porrier

Terri is a member of the Crossing Life Church and internship program. She loves serving on the farm and sharing her revelations of the parallels of life and farming!

“Last night, I went to tuck in the chickens and they had been locked out.

I recently read that when they huddle together it’s out of fear. It was dark outside and they were huddled together in fear of a predator.

I opened the door for them and some went inside on their own. There were around fifty that remained huddled under the trailer, though. I knew in that moment that they weren’t going to move. Was I a friend or foe? The chickens had to trust that I was a friend but that trust didn’t come easily.

Have you ever been so fearful that you hunker down refusing to move, unwilling to trust those that God has placed in your life to bring you to safety? Are you afraid to step out because of the unknown? Can you recognize a friend from a foe? Can you discern the voice of God from the voice of the enemy?

I had to keep crawling under the trailer, grabbing each chicken one by one to bring them to safety. Many tried to escape. It got really dirty and very messy.

Getting dirty and laboring could mean speaking the truth when it’s contradictory to public opinion or changing your plans when it isn’t convenient. Are you willing to get messy and labor to see others set free?

This was work, but it was worth it!”

We’d love to know… Is God on the move in your life?  If you have a testimony, click the button below to share in an upcoming edition of The Crossing Weekly!
